A tiger mother lost her cubs from premature labour. Shortly after she became depressed and her health declined, and she was diagnosed with depression. So they wrapped up piglets in tiger cloth, and gave them to the tiger. The tiger now loves these pigs and treats them like her babies.

Today, this Doonsebury strip, on recent abortion laws requiring women to have a sonogram, was either pulled from some U.S. newspapers (like the Kansas City Star) or moved from the traditional space on the Comics page to the Op-Ed section (like the LA Times), and 30-40 papers have inquired about a substitute comic.
In an exchange with the Guardian, Garry Trudeau had this to say:
Ninety-nine percent of American women have or will use contraception during their lifetimes. To see these healthcare rights systematically undermined in state after state by the party of ‘limited government’ is appalling. “In Texas, the sonograms are the least of it. The legislature has also defunded women’s health clinics all over the state, leaving 300,000 women without the contraceptive services that prevent abortions in the first place. Insanity.”
Trudeau is dismayed by the newspaper reaction. “I write the strip to be read, not removed. And as a practical matter, many more people will see it in the comics page than on the editorial page,” he wrote.
So, Internet, do your thing. Get the word out. Make people see this cartoon. Make people think about it.
